In this lesson, students will learn about products that are "designed for the dump" and how this impacts the planet. Students will watch Annie Leonard's video about the Story of Electronics and trace the story of a particular electronic they own, such as a cell phone, TV, or computer. They can also research where this electronic goes after they dispose of it. This can help teach students about the human and environmental cost of upgrading to a new phone each time there is a new product available. Students can also host an electronics recycling drive.
