Taught using Technology in Society Unit
Thinking lessons to help students develop thinking as a skill that can be applied to any situation. Each thinking skill is is related to an activity that is technology or invention themed.
Some different activities include:
-Students will consider inventions during different centuries.
-They will consider which inventions have been most impactful to them.
-They will learn about Rube Goldberg and his elaborate inventions.
-They will select their own simple invention to make elaborate through backwards design.
-Cell phones in school debate. (Pro/con articles provided as well as accountable talk prompts for respectful debate.)
-App research-students find apps that could support their learning in school.
-Students will create an infographic that can be displayed in their school that informs teaching staff and other students about apps that may be useful to them.
