Tecumseh, His Life and Times is a biography unit for upper elementary student It can be equally utilized in an ELA or a Social Studies class and is perfect for a unit on the War of 1812 or Native American studies. Each of the four passages can be used alone - they could be assigned as the teacher wishes: in class over 1- 4 days, as homework assignments, an independent project, etc. Each passage has a page of questions (inference, factual, and opinion) as well as a page of vocabulary and grammar work. Two of the texts have a short creative writing assignment, one has a scavenger hunt activity, and one a map drawing and labeling assignment. A full answer key is included.
The text is divided into four passages: 1. Tecumseh’s World in 1768; 2. The Colonists Move West; 3. Tecumseh’s Early Life; and 4. Tecumseh and the War of 1812. Each passage is approximately 250-270 words in length.
This unit is also part of my large bundle of Native People's of Canada (with a total of 7 products) which can be seen here: Mega Bundle of 7 Items
