This center activity is designed to compliment Eureka Math (Engage NY) Kindergarten Module 5, Topic B. Students will count quantities and match them to the correct teen number. The numbers 10-20 are all represented 5 times (2 pictures, 2 ten frames, and base ten blocks).

Suggestion- place the numerals on a pocket chart. Have students put the quantity card next to the corresponding numeral.

Optional: have students use math manipulatives to build sets to match the numerals.

This center aligns to Common Core Standards: K.CC.5 and K.NBT.1

Compose and decompose numbers from 11 to 19 into ten ones and some further ones, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record each composition or decomposition by a drawing or equation (e.g., 18 = 10 + 8); understand that these numbers are composed of ten ones and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
