This activity is meant to be an ice-breaker for students in which you can learn more about them, they can learn more about you, and they can connect with each other. Through this activity, you will absolutely notice a true community forming within your classroom. Students will have the opportunity to open up about personal scars in their lives, share those with their classmates, and then reflect on someone else’s scar that they connected with. Use this activity in the first week of school for 8th – 12th graders. This activity is also a great segue for Juniors and Seniors into writing their personal statement or Common App essay.
