Learning to tell time can be SO tricky for students-especially reading an analog clock! I like to give my second and third graders ample opportunities to practice so they can continue building toward mastery of this important math skill. These telling time task cards would be great for introducing telling time with first graders, too.
There are 48 different task cards
for telling time to the hour
, half hour
, and quarter till
Each card presents students with an analog clock showing the time and a blank for the digital time printed below the clock. Students record the digital time to match the analog clock.
Use the telling time puzzles:
✎ in a math center
✎ for small group or partner practice
✎ for a whole group warm up activity
✎ as an exit ticket
✎ as part of guided math
✎ early finisher activity
✎ for homework practice
Print and laminate the cards for students to write directly on them. Or print out the answer sheets and students can record their answers on paper.
