Telling Time Task Cards (CCSS 1.MD.B.3) Tell and write time in hours and half-hours using analog and digital clocks.
These Telling Time Task cards contain 24 different cards for Grade 1 based on the Common Core State Standards. These cards can also be used at the end of Kindergarten or as a review at the beginning of Grade 2.
Telling Time Task Cards help with understanding of telling time to the nearest hour and half hour on both analog and digital clocks. On the analog clocks, the hour hand in representative of an actual clock with its position not directly on the hour, depending on how many minutes have passed. For example, if the time is 2:30, then the hour hand is between the 2 and the 3. Students are not only asked to read the time from an analog clock, but they must also be able to read the time from a digital clock and draw the long and short hand of an analog clock to match the same time.
These Telling Time Task Cards can be used in learning centers, for independent review, or in a game setting. The cards can be printed in color or grayscale. For long term use, you will want to laminate the cards first or insert them into the pages of a small 4x6 photo album where students can write their answers directly on each page with a dry erase marker. You can use all cards in the set or just a section of the set. Analog clocks are part of all of the odd-numbered cards. Digital clocks are part of all of the even-numbered cards. The following Common Core standards are covered:
