This telling time unit was created to supplement the teaching of telling time in the classroom. This unit focuses on telling time to the nearest five minutes. In this unit you will find:
“Telling Time Self-Assessment” – Pre- & post-assessment checklist for students.
“Telling Time Posters” – 3 posters provided to display in your classroom or provide to students to remind them of how to tell time using an analog clock. Provided in black & white and color.
“A.M. or P.M.?” – Students record whether each clock & description occurs during the a.m. or p.m.
“Telling Time with an Analog Clock” – Students count by fives to find how many minutes are shown on each analog clock and then write the matching digital time.
“What Do You Do?” – Students describe what they do at each of the times shown on the clocks.
“Digital Time” – Students record the digital time to match each analog clock.
“Analog Time” – Students record the analog clock hands to match the digital time.
“How Many Times?” – Students work with partners to estimate then record how many times they can do each of the 10 activities in the given times. Two versions provided – 1 for groups of 2 and 1 for groups of 3.
“How Long Does it Take?” – Students estimate how long it will take them to complete each of the ten activities then use stopwatches or times to find and record the actual length of time. Two versions provided – 1 for groups of 2 and 1 for groups of 3.
“What Time is it?” – Students match the digital time, analog clock, and written version for each time, then record both on the recording sheet. Two versions included. Provided in color and black & white.
