Want a fun way for your kids to practice their TIME to the HALF HOUR? Here is a cute SCOOT or task card activity that won't keep them stuck at their desks.
This resource includes:
24 task cards - analog clock faces to the half hour
Recording sheet - 24 spots to record the digital time
Notes to the teacher:
This resource can be used as a Scoot game where the task cards are set out around the room and each student starts at a task card. The teachers sets a timer (20 seconds would be appropriate for this Scoot game). When the time is up, the teachers says “Scoot:” and each student moves one spot clockwise. They record their answer for each on on the recording sheet.
My favorite way to use this is in a task card/write the room fashion. The cards are taped up in various places around the room in mixed up order. During math center time, a small group of students attach record sheets to a clipboard. They find each task card and write the time from the analog clock on the card in digital format on the recording sheet.
Suggestions for a big class - If you choose to do the Scoot version, and have more than 24 kids, you may need to have more than one student at each spot or work in partnerships.
Copy on cardstock and laminate to use year after year.
