This QR code scavenger hunt can be used in 1st-3rd grade math as a whole class activity, small group activity, for early finishers, or students who need extra review. These task cards include times to the quarter hour.
Print on card stock and laminate. Students will need to access a mobile device with a camera to scan QR codes (iPad, iPod, Smart Phone, Tablet, etc.)
This activity includes 25 elapsed time task cards. Place the task cards around your classroom where they are visible to students. Give each student an answer sheet and a starting number. It is best to give students each a different starting number so they are spread out around the room, working independently.
Students will go to their first card (assigned number) and scan the code. They will then search the task cards to find the clock that matches that time they scanned. When they find the match, they will write the task card number in the next box and the time on the clock in the box underneath. They will then scan the code and travel to find their next matching clock. Students’ answers should be in the same order, but their answer sheets will not look the same as they are all starting at different numbers.
I hope you enjoy this activity!
