'Telling Your Truths' Expository Essay and Pre-Writing Activity
Product Description
This file includes two different documents. The first is a pre-writing activity that asks students to identify three main beliefs they have in regards to 13 different categories (Education, Marriage/Parenting, Poor/Homeless, Nature/Humans, Science/Technology, etc.) and the source of these beliefs. This assignment is designed to get students thinking about the values they hold, where these come from, and how they shape who they are. Once completing the pre-writing activity, students will write an expository essay where they identify the three beliefs that they feel have the most bearing on who they are as a person. They will be explaining not only what these beliefs are, but also giving specific examples of what happened in their lives that lead up to these beliefs, and specific examples of how we see these beliefs in action within their lives.
