This lab uses seltzer water, a balloon, and a thermometer to make some quantitative and qualitative observations of the effect of changing temperature on solutions containing dissolved gases.
I always give this lab after the lab about solubility of solids in a liquid as a way to contrast the different behaviors.
My labs are straightforward. Some of them are paper labs, but the ones that involve significant laboratory setup or calculations to be made on the part of the teacher are written about in a Teacher Notes section at the end of those particular labs. I use relatively safe and inexpensive chemicals. Of course, safety precautions are always noted at the beginning of the lab.
