For classrooms, home schooling, DEAR programs, independent study, book discussion groups, or anyone with a healthy thirst for knowledge about the Vietnam War and/or K-9 units during the war, this reproducible study guide will help you. It has a pre-reading multiple choice section, a chapter-by-chapter reading guide, a post-reading activity and projects from many different educational disciplines that allow for real-life connection to the story and further exploration into subtopics presented in the novel. Cross-curricular teaching works well with the novel (American History/American Literature, etc.), and study of the Vietnam War is often overshadowed by other kinds of activities, even though it is historically important, and the generation left to tell the TRUE stories of their experiences is dwindling. Ten: Five Five is available on Amazon and is an excellent read for approximately sixth grade and up. It is nonfiction--written by a war vet and some of his colleagues in the K-9 unit of the US Air Force. It is both somber and humorous. Appropriate for school. The link is below.
