Celebrate "International Talk Like a Pirate Day" with this fun math centre (center) activity.
Students match the common fraction, decimal fraction and word form cards (in tenths) according to the number of ten pin bowling pins knocked down. Students may dress up like pirates on International Talk Like a Pirate Day and play with either full-sized or mini ten pin bowling sets. Recording sheet included with guiding questions to help students make the link between the "sets" model of fractions and the common/decimal fraction and word form representations.
