Product Description
In my classroom I always want students to have a clear idea of what they need to work when the first come to class. Entry tasks set students for success by reviewing materials and concepts needed to achieve learning targets. As a result I started making my own recorder warm-ups for my students in grades 4th - 5th Grade (in addition to a method book and some Music K-8 songs will also study from). After teaching some quarter notes/rests and the notes BAG on the soprano recorder, I incorporate warm-ups #1 - #7 in this collection as entry tasks at the start of a lesson. Once kids are familiar with this material I also add repeat signs and half notes/rests, which can be found on warm-ups #8 - #10. Everything is step-wise melodic motion in this grouping of warm-ups. As far as tempo, I set the steady beat from 60 bpm - 120 bpm depending on what tempo they can play it with most accuracy. I find it fun and engaging, and so do the kids, to add piano block chords or simple drum set rhythms as you see fit. Enjoy! :)
