This reader's theater was written for a small group of 4. It was written to be used in November for Thanksgiving. In the script, Susan has to create a list for an assignment in writing. The title is Ten Things I’m Thankful For. They have to be things she can describe and go into detail about as well as say why they are important. Susan put off doing the assignment because she thought it was easy and ran out of time but her friends help her to come up with a list. While they are creating it, they discover why school is important to them and just how much they should be thankful for. Reader's theater is a way I encourage all my students, including reluctant readers, to practice and become more fluent. My name is Melanie Whitesides and my store name is Wonbyone. I hope your students enjoy this script. I used this reader's theater in order to introduce a writing essay assignment for Thanksgiving. I write small group reader's theaters so that students have more opportunities to talk and have shorter wait times between their lines. In this way there is little wasted time as well as less off task behaviors. Almost all of my scripts are in black and white so that they will copy easier in a black and white photocopier. If you like this script look for more at my store. I sell many of them in packs as well as individually. Let me know what you think and thank you again for your business.
