These cards can be printed on card stock and on the back of the ten frame the number or the spelled number can be printed so your students can practice with flashcards as partners or groups. (I would laminate.) Additionally, one set of cards can be made with just the ten frame to be matched up with the number or spelled number.
This activity can be independent or played as a game. I have included a worksheet so a student can independently write down the ten frame that is randomly pulled from a stack of cards and then write the number and spell the number for practice. One worksheet is for just the ten frame and another is 0-20 so you can differentiate and structure the concept.
The cards can be used on a math word wall or put down the hallway where you can play games or use for ticket out the door or ticket back in the door. For example, as students finish getting a drink of water you can say, “Stand in front of the ten frame that shows 6,” and “Find the ten frame that shows 6 + 4,” (a student could use 4 black dots/6 white or 6 black dots/4 white.) The possibilities are endless!
