This is a self reflection activity where students use a word bank to say what students should do, and what they actually do. It is designed to give practice with tener + que expressions and ir+ a expressions.
Students first look at the word bank of 24 activities (some positive and some negative) and choose to write 6 sentences with tener que and expectations for students (doing homework, listening to the teacher, etc..)
Then students finish sentences that start with good/bad student/s, using ir+ a to say what the students actually will do.
Finally, they repeat both sections about themselves.
See preview for a brief sample of the word bank and directions.
This worksheet is comprehensive, in that gives practice of the el/ella, ellos/ellas, and yo forms of each verb, while allowing the students to reflect on their own learning practices. In addition, their is a facebook reflection at the end that they can try to decipher.
Students have a good time playing the roles of good and bad students, and I often use this activity as a prompt for an acting scenario. Please post a comment if you would like info on how to continue this practice after the worksheet.
Best used for Spanish 1 and 2, and in conjunction with Realidades 1 4b and Realidades 2 1A
