Tens Matching: Students count the base ten blocks and find the numerical representation that matches.
Tens Top-It: Divide the cards into two stacks. Each partner flips over a card. Whoever has the greater amount keeps the card.
Splat Tens Version 1: Divide the class into two teams and form two lines. Tape the cards with base ten blocks and numbers to your board. Make sure to keep the matches out. Example, if you tape a card that has 30 represented in base ten, keep the card with the number 30 out. Project a card from the keep pile. The students in the front of the team lines will come up and splat (hit) the card that matches. The first player to splat the correct answer earns a point for their team.
Splat Tens Version 2.: Give each student a copy of the splat game from slide 6. Project a card showing base ten. Students will circle or hit/splat. The correct number representation.
