This math set includes practice using the standard algorithm to solve division problems involving both decimals and whole numbers. The focus of the activities is for students to divide and find either a terminating or a repeating decimal to division problems and to interpret the quotient in division word problems. There are four sets of pages included:
1. Remainders as decimals: Students solve 16 problems to determine if the decimals are terminating or repeating. There are 16 division problems with a combination of terminating and repeating decimals as answers as well as whole numbers as answers.
2. Interpreting the quotient: Students are given 6 word problems where they will determine to round the quotient up, down, or use the exact answer based on what the word problem ask. Students are also given the opportunity to create their own interpret the quotient problem and swap problems with a partner.
3. Mixed Review: This review contains a mixture of the two activities above. There are 12 division problems and 5 interpreting the quotient problems.
4. Quiz: The quiz contains 8 division problems and 4 interpret the quotient word problems to assess student’s ability to divide with terminating and repeating decimals as well as interpret the quotient in word problems.
