This editable Behavior Chart can be used as a daily behavior plan for students who need a lot of positive reinforcement throughout the day for their behavior. There are two versions - one chart divides the day into 4 time periods, the other into 7 time periods. The behavior goals center around the 4 R's themes of Respect, Responsibility, Ready to Learn, and Really Safe. Print off a stack of them, and keep them on a small size clipboard. The small size allows the student to take the clipboard to specials or to intervention groups.
Provide positive feedback for the child throughout the day regarding their behavior as you mark a happy face, check mark or minus sign in each box. The following morning I have a mini-conference with the child regarding their behavior from the day before. We add up the happy faces together to see if the child met his/her goal. Next, we set a new goal for the day/week. The student can earn any reward of your choosing. I usually pick 2 or 3 things the child might enjoy, such as computer time, free time, stickers, etc., and allow the child to choose from those. Having the child receive his/her reward the first thing in the morning helps to set the tone for success for the day.
This behavior chart is fully editable. Just type in your student's name, circle the area of behavior they are working on (Respect, Responsibility, Ready to Learn, Really Safe) and type in the specific behaviors they are working on. (Examples include: Follow Directions Right Away, Finish on Time, Stay on Task, Keep Hands to Myself, Use Kind Words, Voice Off During Work Time, etc.). You can also change the times and activities along the left side of the chart.
Hope this helps with those challenging students!
