Teach your students to be “Terrific Test-Takers.” The unit comes complete with a suggested goal, a rubric, and student checklist for easy progress monitoring. A lesson plan and nine, 30 minute activities are also included. That’s one lesson for each week of the marking period! This method of teaching and data collection will allow you and your students to determine which strategies are most helpful, in turn creating a clear, and individualized picture for them on “how to” learn language, and be successful test-takers.
Use this unit to gather information regarding “how much your students already know” about test-taking strategies via the use of the Pre-test, then teach students about test-taking strategies using the Teaching Tool, which is presented in the “WH” question format. Use the 45 True and False test-taking strategy game cards and board game to teach and discuss strategies used by good test-takers. (answer sheet and suggested discussion
included) Follow up with sample worksheets for “following directions,” “reading comprehension,” and “using key words.” Wrap up the unit with a Post-Test and review and discussion regarding application of good test-taking strategies. Answer Keys provided for all worksheets and game cards. Please visit my store for additional language-based learning strategies. Created by: High-Heel Speechie
