Learning and reviewing test taking strategies is more engaging with this doodle wheel! Upper elementary and middle school students love this as a fun way to discuss test-taking strategies!
This wheel was created with math testing in mind, but it could be used for other subject areas as well. It can be kept in students’ notebooks as a reference for the year.
The sections of the wheel include:
1) Read directions
2) Underline
3) Choose a strategy
4) Read all answer choices
5) Eliminate answers
6) Check your work
7) Use resources
8) Take your time
This test-taking strategies resource includes:
- Student wheel
- A ‘key’ with suggested ideas to add to or clarify what the strategies mean; these are just suggestions and you can easily use different notes to fit your needs
- A colored sample
- An editable PPT with:
- A version that has “test-taking strategies” in the center, with all the sections blank, in case you have different strategies you want students use. (Save as PDF to print.)
- A blank wheel with background, so you can add text to make your own wheels, if you’d like (for classroom use only - not commercial use)
