Testing anxiety is a common problem for all grade levels. One way to combat testing anxiety is by giving kids strategies they can use during testing. Our kids need to learn to help themselves through stressful situations, so this test taking strategy poster can be very useful! This is a one page, black-and-white poster. It can easily be printed on color paper, blown up to a larger size for classroom posters, or shrunken down for bookmarks. It uses the word "RELAX" as an acronym for several strategies students (of all ages) can use when taking a test. Each line has a strategy that starts with one of the letters, R-E-L-A-X. It is simple, easy to read, and comes in handy.
I've used this with my students each year to prepare them for taking tests in any class, including state standardized tests. I have a poster of it on colored paper in my room and gave all of my students an electronic copy to keep on their devices.
