Let's face it, whether we like it or not our students are faced with taking tests all too often. One of the best strategies we can teach our students is how to dissect the question at hand to make sure they thoroughly answer all parts of the question. Unfortunately, what tends to happen when students are faced with a number and variety of questions, whether a unit test in your classroom or a state assessment test, they go on auto-pilot after the first few questions and often only answer part of the question or do so at a very shallow depth.
This set of posters helps the students understand what specific task the question is asking them to do in their answer. For example, how many times do students get confused between the tasks explain and describe? Analyze and justify? How and why?
These colorful posters can be displayed around the room throughout the year or used in target lessons as you help students learn how to demonstrate the skills and knowledge they are gathering.
Test taking words included in this set are as follows:
Help your students excel on tests by helping them learn to evaluate what the question is asking them to do and have the confidence in knowing exactly how to structure a solid response!
