Have you ever asked yourself, how am I going to start my students day on the mornings of standardized testing? In my classroom, I like to leave a motivational note with a treat and give a creative morning work on each morning of our standardized tests!! You will find both of these inside of this bundle. There are motivational notes and brain boosting morning works for up to 8 different days of testing.
The eight scribble pages allow the students to create a picture from a basic shape or line that has been drawn for them. This helps to stimulate their thinking and helps the students relax before they are tested.
Print a copy of the scribbles for each of your students and allow them to complete it during morning work time. Have them use colors to further stimulate their thinking!
Before we get our desks ready for testing, I have the students put their drawings away in their desk. When testing is completed I allow students, who want to, share what they created from the basic shape or line. It is amazing what they can come up with and how the pictures improve day to day!!
I also like to leave a note of encouragement before each day of standardized testing. It seems to help break some of the tension that the students feel and they look forward to the note each day!! :) I have included a note of motivation or a note of motivation with a testing tip for each treat. Simply choose what works best for you!!
There are motivational notes for 8 different mornings of testing!! (Smarties, Dum-Dums, Airheads, Pixie Sticks, Tootsie Rolls, Twixs, Twizzlers, and Starbursts)
Before we get our desks ready for testing, I have the students put the treat in their desk and when there is a testing break or testing is over for the day we enjoy our treat together!!
