PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

LIMESTONE ROCK FIZZ TEST!

In this science activity students test limestone and other common materials/objects for the presence of calcium carbonate. If the material FIZZES when you drop a small amount of diluted hydrochloric acid on it, then it has calcium carbonate. This is one test used by geologists to determine types of rocks.

Also included is a reading on what is limestone and why is this test important with some review questions.

Materials required:
diluted HCL in dropper bottles, small dishes to test objects in, goggles, wood, plastic, leaves, tums tablets, limestone rock, chalk, shells, egg shells, and paper clips
