LIMESTONE ROCK FIZZ TEST!
In this science activity students test limestone and other common materials/objects for the presence of calcium carbonate. If the material FIZZES when you drop a small amount of diluted hydrochloric acid on it, then it has calcium carbonate. This is one test used by geologists to determine types of rocks.
Also included is a reading on what is limestone and why is this test important with some review questions.
diluted HCL in dropper bottles, small dishes to test objects in, goggles, wood, plastic, leaves, tums tablets, limestone rock, chalk, shells, egg shells, and paper clips
