This lesson is designed to help students in Texas research and learn about some of the major ecoregions of the state. The main focus of the research is on analyzing the effects of weathering, erosion, and deposition on the environment in each of the following ecoregions:
East Texas Pineywoods
Gulf Coast Prairies and Marshes
Post Oak Savannah
Cross Timbers and Prairies
South Texas Plains
Students will color the ecoregion on a Texas map, provide a description of the ecoregion, describe the natural processes that effect the ecoregion, and explain how human activities have changed the patterns of weathering, erosion, and deposition.
A teaching guide is included along with a brief introduction to ecoregions and some terms that students will need to be familiar with.
Students will either need to be provided with the technology to be able to access the online information or given textbooks or similar resources to look up the information.
I have included 2 different versions of the research - one blank and one with fill-in-the-blank notes. The fill-in-the-blank version comes with a teacher answer key.
