This is a thorough "Texas European Exploration" Unit correlated to the Texas 4th Grade TEKS 4.2A,B,C,D,and F.
With this unit I have inlcuded a background lesson on European exploration. Then students will also choose from several Texas writing research projects with a theme of "Early European Exploration of Texas". The projects are engaging, fun and also integrate many of the language arts skills taught in 4th grade. They will make wonderful displays for your "Texas" theme classroom.
From writing about Martin De Leon, Moses Austin or many others, the students will take part in three in depth studies about the European settlement in Texas.
Also included is a Texas Early European Exploration Writing Project and a Texas Early European Exploration matching quiz.
Even though this product is directly tied to the 4th Grade TEKS, the lessons and projects could easily be used for older grade levels as well.
Included in this lesson:
*Two Pages of Writing Projects Student Handouts
*One page of A Texas Early European Exploration Writing Prompt For Students
