Are you looking for a less boring way to teach your students about famous Texas Landmarks such a the Alamo, the San Jacinto Monument, the Texas Capital, the Kennedy Memorial Plaza, the University of Texas, and Big Tex? Sure...we ALL are!
This activity includes information fact cards about all of the above listed Texas landmarks, as well as a picture and label of each landmark.
Simply Create 1 class chart (on chart paper) for each Texas Landmark and attach the picture to each chart. Print and cut out the cards and have students sort/attach their card to the correct Texas Landmark chart. After sorting, discuss and check for accuracy.
This activity can serve as a way to assess the students prior knowledge before lesson as well as checking for understanding and master at the conclusion of the unit. Cards could also be used in a game show format as well.
