The Texas Lone Star Reading List is an annual list of 20 titles selected by a committee of Texas school and public librarians. It is designed to represent a variety of genres, interests, and reading levels for students in grades 6-8.
Each two-page poster includes all 20 Texas Lone Star Reading List books for the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school years. It is a visible way for students to quickly vote for and recommend books from the 2016-2017 Texas Lone Star Reading List to one another.
Directions for use:
Print the two posters (10 books per poster) in color and hang in the library. Choose two different stickers to represent "like" or "dislike" and affix them in the space at the top. When students complete a Lone Star book, they can get a sticker to like or dislike the book on the chart. I used bright green dots for "likes" and bright orange dots for "dislikes."
