Howdy Texas 5th grade teachers! Are you looking for a quick and challenging assessment tool to evaluate your students’ understanding of the TEKS?
Texas STAAR Math Scholar: Exit Tasks is designed to assess your students’ mastery of the new STAAR eligible TEKS. These exit tasks are designed to “capture the major focus of the lesson” and provide “a sampling of student performance” (Fennell, Kobett, & Wray, 2017) to help you gain a better understanding of what your students know and understand about a specific TEKS standard. In addition, in accordance with the new state assessment standards, the mathematical process standards are embedded throughout the pack.

After each TEKS-based lesson, the exit task can be used to evaluate student mastery of the standard. Additionally, this pack can also be used to support student learning of specific content in a whole class, small group, or intervention setting after a review or reteach of a skill.
This pack includes an exit task for each STAAR-eligible TEKS standard. There is one page for each standard with two duplicate tasks for easy copying.
A Note about the Answer Key:
Due to the open-ended nature of this pack, no answer key has been included. Please review the tasks before assigning them to students to gain a better understanding of the expected response.
