A game for 2 or more players that covers the features, purposes and language conventions of different texts (narrative, explanation, procedure, report, poems etc). It asks questions about texts that come under three main genres - Imaginative texts, informative texts and persuasive texts.
Questions are either multiple choice or short answer. Answers are given on the card.
The language used is derived from the National Australian Curriculum and the new NSW English K-10 syllabus.
How to Play: Each player needs a bingo board and some counters.
The pile of cards goes between the two players.
Player 1 draws a card from the deck and asks Player 2 a question.
If Player 2 gets the card correct, they get to keep the card and place a counter on any square with the matching symbol as the card.
If Player 2 gets the card incorrect, it goes in a ‘graveyard’ pile which cannot be used until the next game.
Player 2 then repeats the process for Player 1.
