I made this graphic handout when I realized that several of my students knew about text evidence and knew about author's point of view but couldn't connect the two in a meaningful way. The purpose of this handout is to teach students that just because a quote comes from the text does not mean it counts as text evidence to support a point. Students determine which quote supports the author's point of view and then explain or justify their reasoning. This can be done independently or used as a minilesson.
Thanks for stopping by!
