Text features are necessary and help with comprehension. There is also a lot of vocabulary involved in text features and this can be difficult for English language learners. I use this digital sort activity to help my students practice defining and identifying text features. The slide deck consists of a title slide (with student directions) and two sorting slides. Each sorting slide has a table with 15 different text features listed on it. There are places in the table for students to drag and drop definitions and pictures of each text feature into. The definitions and pictures for all 15 terms are provided to the side of both sorting slides (students will not use all of the draggable items on either slide). None of the text or photos are editable, except for the size. You will want to delete slides four and five before making a copy for each student as they are the answer key.
A paper/printable version of this activity is available!
