This lesson is a fun and engaging way to help reinforce and teach the concept of Text Structure and Expository Writing skills.
This is a lesson centered around the use of 6 different learning centers. Stations teach note taking skills, use a foldable, cloze reading strategies, require independent thinking skills, text structure identification, teaches signal words, requires students to cite specific textual evidence, use paired reading passages, and more. The centers also require students to use expository writing strategies through the application of specific text structure usage.
The centers will appeal to your students personal knowledge and interest by making references to bands and singers, the president of the United States, experiences they can relate to, and more.
Included in the Unit:
- Center Signs
- Center Overview Form (excellent to present/project as you discuss the activity and explain what the students will be doing)
- Center Instructions
- All Center Reading Passages, Task Cards, and Necessary Worksheets
- Teacher Reference Sheet With Tips and Pointers
- Answer Key
In this packet you should find EVERYTHING you need to make your lesson a success.
Good luck and happy teaching!
