This fun cooperative group "scoot" activity combines the LA standard of identifying text structure while covering an important social studies theme. Students will be asked to find key signal words to help them correctly identify whether the text is set up in the format of cause/effect, sequencing, problem/solution, description, or compare/contrast. Activity includes 5 station "text structure" cards, a recording sheet, a direction/standard connection description, and an answer sheet. Enjoy! :) JB Creations
I used this very lesson for my evaluation lesson this year and it was extremely effective. My principal was very impressed with how many standards it met!
