Text Structure is such a hard concept for teachers to get students to understand, but it plays such a huge role in the Common Core Standards and the Language Arts Florida Standards. When students understand what Text Structure is, it makes a huge difference in their comprehension of the text. Understanding the author's craft and structure of the text will help students to better understand why an author wrote a text, and help students to find important details that are located in the text that will support the author's reason for writing. Understanding the structure of a text is critical to every other Reading Skill for students.
This is a PowerPoint to introduce students to Text Structure. Students must be able to identify the structure of a text to answer many questions about the text. It is my hope that you find the product useful.
