This text structure sort helps students organize 5 of the most common text structures: cause & effect, descriptive, compare & contrast, problem & solution, and sequence. The students are asked to organize and sort the definition, key words, a graphic organizer, and an example for text pattern.
Additionally, to further the practice, there is 1 longer passage for each text structure that could be organized on the back of the chart.
The student sheet is not organized in any specific pattern, which allows the students to cut out the sort for you, without seeing the answers. I like to do that because, for me, the hardest part of a sort is finding the time to do all that cutting!
