Description
This activity was designed for our 4th and 5th grade literacy groups. Included in the activity are 5 posters, 20 task cards, a student activity sheet, and an answer key. The task cards target the following structures: description, cause and effect, compare and contrast, sequence, and problem-solution. All task cards include clue/signal words and a range of reading abilities, ranging from areading lexile of approximately 690-1410. (The higher reading lexile is a result of Tier 3 vocabulary.) Print off the posters and task cards, laminate for durability, and cut out. The task cards work well for independent work, group work, and test prep. Students may check their answers using the answer key.
