15 colorful and interesting cards with a theme about tornados and hurricanes help your students practice their knowledge of text structure and organizational patterns and the keywords that can help them identify each organizational pattern. Also contains an exit slip to check student understanding of how texts are organized.
Just to be clear, this is a matching activity- there are 5 cards with passages, 5 cards with keywords, and 5 cards with the type of text. Students enjoy reading the passages and matching them up with the keywords and types of text they represent. Also included is an exit slip that can be used as an end-of-class informal assessment.
