Students need to know the organizational patterns and text-structures of the texts that they are reading and these pages will help them reflect-upon and analyze just that!! These pages work with fiction and non-fiction texts of all lengths from chapter books to articles.
Students will read a definition page that defines each pattern or structure; they will then understand the related genres they are often connected to. This will then help them decide what text structures/organizational patterns were present within their texts. There are small spaces for students/teachers to add their own notes to for each type.
After reading the definitions/references pages, students will read a text of any length, provided by the teacher. Then, students will make check-mark choices as to how the text was structured or organized. Finally, they will provided key words, a reference, or explanation for their choice/choices. A refection page for 3 reflections is included. Designed for multiple uses, multi-use.
