A student understanding of text structure is important when reading. Author’s use text structures to emphasize or change a reader’s opinion. I created this Text Structures Flip Book to keep your class engaged when learning or reviewing text structures in the classroom.
The teacher can print out the booklet, and the student will cut and staple the book together. The student will identify the purpose of a text structure, write the definition, clue words, and give an example. A visual of the text structure is provided in the booklet. This book is an organized way to keep the student learning about different text structures.
Included in the packet is a rubric to grade the student on completion of the flip book. I have also included a Text Structures Scavenger hunt worksheet for the student to use once they have learned about text structures. (Which can be used for a grade.)
