Are you looking to introduce your students to the five common text structures for non-fiction texts? This packet includes an anchor chart and/or cooperative group activity, as well as corresponding interactive notebook cards and a worksheet to reinforce/practice skills learned..

The five text structures included in this packet are:
1. Sequence/Chronological
2. Descriptive
3. Problem/Solution
4. Cause and Effect
5. Compare and Contrast

For each text structure listed, there is a description, key/signal words, and a visual/graphic organizer.

As an introduction to text structures, students can work in groups to sort the cards into rows and columns, creating their own learning experience while working with others. Directions for use are included.

The small cards can be used as a foldable activity or as mini-books for use inside of an interactive notebook.
