This digital resource contains ten nonfiction text structure worksheets. They are ideal for introducing your students to the five main informational text structures because they feature graphic organizers. After reading a passage, students must write key ideas inside the appropriate graphic organizer. This resource uses Google Slides, making it an ideal activity for distance learning situations.

It addresses the following five text structures:

→ Sequence

→ Compare and Contrast

→ Cause and Effect

→ Problem and Solution

→ Description

The first five worksheets contain the graphic organizer that matches the passage. I used these five passages as a guided practice lesson with my students. We read the passages together, discussed the text structure, and filled in the graphic organizer.

The next five worksheets were designed to be an independent practice opportunity for students. The graphic organizers are removed, and students are asked to read the passage and identify the text structure by clicking on a tab. When they click on a text structure tab, they are taken to a blank graphic organizer, which they then fill in.

All answer keys are included.

These passages are identical to the ones you will find in my printable graphic organizer worksheet packet- this simply provides you with another presentation option. If you already own the printable worksheets and you would like to own this digital version instead, please email me at deb@crafting-connections.com. Include a copy of your receipt showing that you purchased the printable worksheets before 3/25/20, and I will send you this digital version for free.
