Description

This printable can be used for a variety of non-fiction texts to teach and reinforce reading strategies as students work through a textbook section or other non-fiction reading. It includes a section for before reading, during reading, after reading, new vocabulary, and even scaffolds students to look at text features such as maps, charts, and graphics.

A great scaffolding tool to meet the CCCS on reading informational text (CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RI). and CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RST.6-8.2 Determine the central ideas or conclusions of a text; provide an accurate summary of the text distinct from prior knowledge or opinions.
