There are so many undercover heroes that walk our school buildings- teachers, custodians, speciality teachers, tech people, law enforcement, and more. Create awareness of these everyday heroes in your school building by encouraging your students to recognize and thank them with these already made thank you cards.
Start this activity with the plan page- who all are heroes in our school? What do these individuals do to help contribute to our learning and safety?
Included are 8 different half sized letters with superhero images (ready to be colored by your students!) Also included are letter formats with or without lines, making this perfect for all writers.
After collecting all letters, attach the small "Thank You" tag which explains the activities to the hero.
How I made this work in my classroom: On Thursdays, we brainstormed a new hero and their contributions. Students wrote their thank you notes and colored them. I collected all the letters and folded them into a small paper bag with a few pieces of candy. I attached the Thank You tag to the bag and we delivered the bag to our Hero. This created awareness and thankfulness amongst my students and helped create a more positive learning environment!
