This reflective SEL/Restorative Practices, and Viewpoint piece encourages students and teachers to consider their point of view as it pertains to their situation. Using Langston Hughes, Thank you Ma'am, teachers or professional development presenters will read (either whole group or by using the narrative from youtube), annotating and dissecting the content and completing a variety of activities (constructed response, small/whole group discussion, and vocabulary), to identify their point of view. For the professional development piece, teachers or stakeholders are encouraged to reflect upon their own practice, based on the prompts from respected researchers and theorist.
