This activity pack is a result of my teaching “Thank You Ma’am” several times. I wanted a cohesive pack of activities that were accessible, student friendly in terms of aesthetics, and most importantly challenging and capable of being differentiated. Every activity has a teacher’s guide. For some activities there two versions offered, an introductory level and an intermediate level. The pack contains: a printable version of the story that can be written on or highlighted, with line numbers; a vocabulary activity using context to determine meaning; an activity that practices matching big ideas and supporting ideas that is cut into pieces and physically manipulated; an activity practicing finding textual evidence, which is an important skill now in Common Core; a writing activity practicing literary analysis paragraphs, with graphic organizers and step by step guidance provided; finally a quiz is included that assesses the skills included in the pack. The Common Core was considered throughout the creation of these activities. On the Table of Contents the standards each activity addresses is included.
