These materials are designed to either be used as individual worksheets to teach a specific standard, or as a packet of materials for a unit using the book “Thank You, Mr. Falker.” You may purchase the book separately to use this packet of materials, or you can access the story online. The website is provided in the packet.
I used these lessons as my emergency sub plans for ELA. Worksheets subjects provided include sequencing, connections, story elements, comprehension questions, and character traits.
In order to use all of the standards listed, you need to use all of the worksheets included in this packet.
These worksheets can be done individually, as small groups, or in shared reading lesson. I recommend that you use anchor charts to aid your students with the higher level comprehension questions.
Since there are a wide variety of possible answers, particularly with the character traits section of this packet, I have not included an answer key for all of the worksheets. I did, however, provide a key for the comprehension questions. Please preview the text for acceptable answers in your classroom.
The full packet of materials is expected to take 5-10 classroom periods of approximately 45 minutes each.
